Imagination

Cunard Queen Anne

For the debut of Imagination on Cunard’s newest ship, Queen Anne, we delivered a scenic build that defines the future of luxury cruise entertainment. Moving away from traditional theatre, this set is a high-tech 'playground' of kinetic structures and integrated LED technology.

The challenge was to marry high-fashion aesthetics with rigorous maritime engineering. Every piece was built to be lightweight and automation-ready, featuring premium metallic and reflective finishes. It was an incredible experience to contribute to the inaugural entertainment lineup of such a prestigious vessel, creating a set that is as much a piece of art as it is a functional stage.

Cable Street

2024

Southwark Playhouse

Set Design: Yoav Segal

Building the world of 1930s East London for Cable Street required a set that could breathe with the high-octane energy of a modern musical. The core of the build was a structural scaffolding system that framed an "uninterrupted corridor," effectively turning the Southwark Playhouse into the long, tense stretches of the East End.

We utilized raw, industrial materials to reflect the poverty and grit of the era, but the real engineering challenge was functionality: the platforms had to be sturdy enough to house a live band while remaining versatile enough to transform into the iconic barricades of the 1936 uprising. The result was a build that felt as massive as a revolution, even within an intimate space.

The Government Inspector

2024

Marylebone Theatre
Designer: Melanie Jane Brookes

Tasked with bringing Patrick Myles’ high-energy adaptation to life, the scenic build for The Government Inspector was a study in functional period detail. The design centered on a "hybrid" aesthetic—blending Imperial Russian grandeur with Victorian grit through jaguar-green wood panelling and gold-threaded damask.

Because the production relied on breakneck farce, the build was engineered as a "theatrical playground." We prioritized structural integrity to withstand constant slapstick and high-speed exits, while the angular layout was sturdy enough to handle a relentless barrage of slapstick, pratfalls, and lightning-fast exits. It was a thrill to build a set that looked like a classic painting but functioned like a high-octane machine!

The White Factory

2023 - 2024

Marylebone Theatre

Designer: Galya Solodovnikova

The scenic build for The White Factory was defined by a need for clinical precision. The central "icing-white stage box" was constructed to provide a high-fidelity projection surface, requiring a flawless, uniform finish to support live-capture video and motion-capture graphics.

Beyond the aesthetic, the build was a mechanical challenge. We engineered the stage to "fracture," utilizing a sliding mechanism that split the white rectangle to reveal a black central chasm. This structural agility, combined with the need to manage visceral materials like burnt ash, blood spatter, and feathers, made this one of our most technically demanding—and rewarding—builds so far.
